News - Middle East - Palestine: Amnesty International called on, Wednesday, "Israel" to provide the vaccine against the Coronavirus to the Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip, noting that international law obliges it to do so.

The organization said that "Israel" must stop ignoring its international obligations as an occupying power, and act immediately to ensure equal and fair provision of Covid-19 vaccines to the Palestinians, who live under its occupation in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

This call comes despite the fact that the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank, where 2.8 million Palestinians live, has not publicly requested assistance from "Israel" to purchase the vaccine.Israel began receiving five out of a million people in the occupied West Bank on December 19, when more than a million people in the occupied territories have received vaccinations so far.

The occupation authorities have counted 451,000 injuries and more than 3,400 deaths, since the announcement in February of last year, the first cases of the Coronavirus.

As for the West Bank, more than 100,000 injuries and 1,101 deaths were recorded, while the total number of the besieged Gaza Strip was 43,134 injuries and 404 deaths.
