Free People of the World Launches Campaign to Stop the Global War on Yemen

News – World: Massive demonstrations will be launched in Yemen and a number of capitals of the free world calling to end the global war on Yemen, which led to the largest humanitarian disaster in the world. Most capitals around the world implementing a wide range of activities on the International Day against the aggression on Yemen.

Mohammad Al-Bukhaiti, a member of the political council of Ansarullah, confirmed in statements to Al-Mayadeen website that Washington's designating Ansarullah A "terrorist organization" is to intimidate Yemenis, adding that the US attempt to pressure the Yemenis will not help. He said, "We are not concerned with what the Biden administration is doing because the United States is a partner in the Saudi-led aggression," stressing that Washington will regret its decision to classify Ansarullah as a "terrorist organization."

Due to the continuing aggression on Yemen led by Saudi Arabia, the famine and humanitarian situation, food insecurity, and the destruction of the country, calls and activities came from several countries that meet under the title "International Day for Yemen" to be a global protest event on January 25th. "International Day for Yemen" is an idea that started with two international figures, Jeremy Corbyn, the former head of the British Labor Party, known for his strong opposition to the war on Yemen, and Saudi Arabia's funding for it, and he always calls for the Kingdom to be held accountable for its human rights violations, as well as the former candidate for the American elections, Bernie Sanders.

Corbyn and Sanders called for the event through the Stop the war coalition, a global organization operating in many countries.
The idea of this demonstration, according to its definition, is to be a global event on January 25, 2021, to put pressure on the new US president, by watching it all over the world, calling for ending the war on Yemen, "because everyone knows that USA is the one who can start war or stop it, "according to the campaign.

Corbin called for joining the campaign, which starts on Monday, January 25, under the slogan #WorldSaysNo to the brutal war on Yemen."

The campaign statement said that the unimaginable war on Yemen, its ugliness, and which was not properly covered, resulted in the killing of 250,000 people. It is estimated that more than 24 million people in the country, which was already one of the poorest countries in the world before the war, will need humanitarian aid in 2021.

According to the campaign that launched just days after the inauguration of Joe Biden, who promised to end American support for the war, "This is our only main goal - to bind him with his word and force fellow governments to do the same," it explained.

Over 260 organizations from 17 countries have signed a call to action against the war on Yemen to date, making this the largest international anti-war coordination since the campaign against the Iraq war.
The United Nations describes Yemen as the world’s largest humanitarian crisis, with 80% of the people in need of aid.

Yemen remains the world’s worst humanitarian crisis. Some 16 million people will go hungry this year, and 50,000 are already essentially starving to death, amid a shortfall in aid.  Preventing a massive famine is the most urgent priority, the UN Humanitarian Affairs chief and Emergency Coordinator told ambassadors.
