The Guardian Calls for Boycotting Tourism in Dubai

News - Middle East:  The British Guardian newspaper called for a boycott of all tourism activities in Dubai, in response to the widespread violations of the human rights in UAE.

"How many abducted and imprisoned princesses would it take for British tourists to turn their backs on Dubai? Three? Four? Ten? Because two “disappeared” princesses doesn’t look like being enough, even now that a secretly filmed account by one of them, saying she had been captured, assaulted, drugged and repatriated, has appeared on the BBC – corroborating the fact-finding judgment of a UK judge, published a year ago," in the article written by "Catherine Bennett" was published in the newspaper"

In a related context, the European Microscope on Middle East Issues monitored human rights calls for the European Union to reconsider its visa exemption program with the UAE against the background of its human rights violations.

The European Microscope said that non-governmental organizations are putting pressure on the European Union to take effective measures against the escalation of violations by the UAE.

The Democracy Center for Transparency (DCT) issued a report criticizing the European Union's stance towards the UAE, noting that the Union was one of the most prominent defenders and promoters of human rights in the world.

The Center urges the European Union to reconsider its agreement with the UAE government and end the exemption program with the UAE, to confirm its commitment to the promotion and protection of human rights.
