Amnesty International Calls on Bahraini Authorities to Investigate Death of Detainee Hussein Barakat
News – Middle East - Bahrain: Amnesty International has called on the Bahraini authorities to conduct an effective, independent and impartial investigation into the circumstances of the death of detainee Hussain Barakat.
Deputy Director of the Middle East Department at the organization Lynn Maalouf called on the Bahraini authorities to take more urgent steps to ensure that all detainees receive immediate medical care, and protect them from infection with the Corona virus.
She demanded the immediate release of those arrested for exercising their right to peaceful protest and to criticize the government.
