News – Yemen: Almasirah TV showed on Tuesday scenes of the downing of a Chinese-made WING LOONG 2 drone that was shot down by the Air Defenses on Monday during its hostile operations over Sa’adah Governorate.

Armed Forces Spokesman Yahya Sare’e stated that the air defenses shot down a Chinese-made WING LOONG 2 drone with an undisclosed surface-to-air missile during its hostile operation in the skies over Kataf district.

The unmanned aerial vehicle can fire air-to-ground missiles from an altitude of 5,000 meters, enabling it to stay outside of the effective range of most anti-aircraft systems.

The development came only a day after the military media released footage of the wreckage of a Chinese-made Chengdu Wing Loong II drone overrated by the Saudi military.

Yemeni air defense shot down the spy drone over Saudi Arabia’s southwestern border region of Najran, which lies close to the border with Yemen with a surface-to-air missile on May 20.
