News - Yemen: 26 Fishermen who were detained in Eritrean prisons arrived, Sunday, at the Fish landing Center in Al-Khouba District of Al-Lahya District in Al-Hodeidah.

The director of the Fish Loading Centers at the General Authority for Fisheries, Abdulmalik Sabra, said that these fishermen were arrested from Yemeni territorial waters and detained in Eritrean prisons for 40 days.

They pointed out that it was directed by the head of the General Authority for Fisheries in the Red Sea, to provide the needed help to the released fishermen.

The fishermen explained that the Eritrean forces confiscated their seven boats and fishing equipment, denouncing the continued attacks and piracy against the fishermen.

They appreciated the interest of the leaderships of the local authority in following up the conditions of the fishermen and providing them with support and assistance.

The head of the General Authority for Fisheries, Engineer Hashem Al-Danaei, condemned the repeated Eritrean attacks on Yemeni fishermen, calling on international organizations to take responsibility for these violations, and to put an end to the arbitrary practices against Yemeni fishermen.
