Parliament in Letter to Secretary-General of UN Objects Saudi-led Aggression Violation against Children

News - Yemen: The head of Parliament Yahya Ali Al-Rahi sent letter to the Secretary-General of UN, Antonio Guterres, about the crimes and violations that the children of Yemen are subjected to by the US-Saudi aggression, in conjunction with the International Children’s Day.

The litter reminded the Security Council  that mothers and children of the world celebrate this occasion, while the children of Yemen are living under rubble and subjected to thousands of raids, crimes and violations by the US-Saudi-Emirati aggression.

The head of Parliament  pointed out that thousands of Yemeni children who were killed and disabled due to US-Saudi air strikes, while tens of thousands were displaced. Many children don't have homes to care for them and all of that is happening without the international community and UN move a finger.

He pointed out that Yemeni children have been deprived of their basic rights to life, noting that the continuation of the crimes of aggression against Yemeni children is a flagrant violation of international norms, charters and laws for the protection of children's rights.

He explained that children are the most affected of the aggression and siege, pointing out that the aggression targeting the childhood in Yemen represents a targeting of the country's future.

Al-Ra'i stressed that Yemeni children live under bombardment and siege, and they are the most affected by the aggression and siege, whether through direct targeting by air or through the repercussions of the aggression and siege.

He stated that the national and international figures and statistics on the reality of childhood in Yemen are horrific, especially with regard to the number of deaths, pointing to the shameful international attitudes towards what children are exposed to in Yemen.

The Speaker of Parliament called on the international community, UN, the world and international organizations concerned with childhood to bear the humanitarian and moral responsibility towards the children of Yemen and work to stop the aggression, end the siege.
