Interior Minister of Pro-Saudi Aggression Government Admits: US-Saudi Coalition Supports Al-Qaeda in Yemen

Yemen: Voices accusing the coalition of supporting “Al-Qaeda” in Yemen are getting louder day after day, and this time the accusations come from within the pro-aggression Hadi government, which the coalition claims that its war in Yemen is in order to restore it. Its Minister of Interior Ibrahim Haidan, accused the UAE for supporting al-Qaeda in Yemen, in an interview with “Sputnik” agency.

Haidan said it frankly that the UAE did not bomb Al-Qaeda convoys loaded with equipment, weapons, people and money in the city of Mukalla, which is controlled by the forces loyal to it, which means that their movements were carried out in coordination between the coalition and the organization within the framework of the agreements and deals that took place between them in these areas.

Haydan added, "The countries that benefit from the disruption of Yemen's ports and economy ‘referring to the UAE’ are the same countries that support al-Qaeda in Yemen".

Haidan tried to not mention Saudi Arabia in supporting al-Qaeda when he said that Saudi-backed Hadi government does not have the capabilities to fight al-Qaeda, he confirmed the arrival of these members to Al-Baidha governorate coming from Hadramout through Shabwa governorate. However, it is known that Al-Baidha governorate was within the control by the armed men loyal to Saudi Arabia before its liberation. So why did Saudi Arabia not bomb the members of the organization when they reached Al-Baidha?

The fact is that the support of “Al-Qaeda” was not only by the Emirates, but there are agreements with Saudi Arabia, which brought them to fight alongside its forces during the recent battles that took place in Al-Baidha Governorate against the Yemeni Army and Popular Committees who expelled the coalition militants and Al-Qaeda months ago.

Haidan's statements did not bring anything new, but confirmed the known, which is that al-Qaeda is a key partner with the coalition in its war on Yemen. This was confirmed earlier by the leader of al-Qaeda in Yemen Khaled Batarfi. He revealed the participation of al-Qaeda members alongside the coalition forces on 11 fronts in Yemen, especially in Marib and Al-Baidha.

The Associated Press published in August 2018 a report which revealed secret agreements under American auspices between the coalition and Al-Qaeda, according to which the organization obtains new sites on which it resides its camps in exchange for its involvement in the battle against the Yemeni Army, including the city of Mukalla and seven areas in Abyan governorate, from which the organization withdrew according to deals concluded between it and the coalition in the year 2016.

Certainly, the coalition’s support for “Al-Qaeda” in Yemen comes under US directives. The US is a key partner to the coalition in its war on Yemen, and as these organizations were created and supported by the US in Iraq and Syria, according to the confessions of former US President Donald Trump, they repeat the same scenario in Yemen, all in order to serve their agenda that it wanted to achieve in Yemen.
