News - Yemen: President Mahdi Al-Mashat congratulated the junior national team for its well-deserved victory in the West Asian Junior Championship on Monday.

Yemeni team crowned the West Asian Football Federation Championship for Juniors by defeating its Saudi host in the final match.

President Al-Mashat praised the high and honorable level of performance presented by the team’s stars throughout the tournament, leading to the final match against the Saudi team and being crowned the championship.

“This deserved victory embodied the determination of Yemen’s national junior team players and their overcoming of the difficulties imposed by the US-Saudi aggression and siege,” he pointed out.

He stressed that this victory has a great moral value for all Yemenis in light of the aggression and siege that Yemen is being subjected to.

President Al-Mashat stressed that the players of the national junior team were able to be the best ambassadors and the best representatives of their country in foreign sports forums.

He pointed out that this team will receive all forms of support and care from the state and the government, expressing thanks to everyone who contributed to the preparation, rehabilitation and support of the team to reach its victory in the championship.

President Al-Mashat also congratulated all the Yemeni people at home and abroad for the victory of the junior team in the West Asian Championship, stressing that the Yemeni people deserve this joy.

For his part, the head of the National Delegation Mohammad Abdulsalam congratulated the junior team for the sporting victory that united all Yemenis with joy.

“Yemen is overjoyed with the national youth team’s victory for the first time in the West Asian Cup,” Abdulsalm posted on Twitter on Monday. “Congratulations to the team for this sporting victory, which united all Yemenis with joy.”
