Yemeni Armed Forces Seize Emirati Military Ship Carrying Out Hostile Acts in Yemeni Waters

News - Yemen: The Yemeni Armed Forces announced on Monday the seizure of an Emirati military cargo ship while it was carrying out hostile acts in Yemeni territorial waters.

“With God’s help, an Emirati military cargo ship, which was carrying military equipment, was seized,” Armed Forces spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Sare’e said in a brief statement. “The Emirati ship entered Yemeni waters without any license.”

The Armed Forces spokesperson confirmed that the UAE military cargo ship was engaging in hostile acts targeting the security and stability of the Yemeni people.

Sare’e noted that the full details of the seizure of the ship will be revealed in a press conference in the coming hours.

For his part, the head of the National Delegation Mohammad Abdulsalam confirmed that the seizing of the ship was a successful and unprecedented operation.

“The successful and unprecedented operation comes as part of confronting the aggression and the siege,” Abdulsalam said, stressing that it is a legitimate right of the Yemeni people.

It is the first time that an aggression ship has been seized while carrying out hostile acts in Yemeni waters since the beginning of the US-Saudi aggression.

The Yemeni navy has before destroyed and damaged several ships and frigates operated by the US-Saudi aggression while carrying out hostile acts against the Yemeni people.

Saudi Arabia, backed by the United States and regional allies, launched the war on Yemen in March 2015, with the goal of bringing the government of former Yemeni president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi back to power.

The war has left hundreds of thousands of Yemenis dead, and displaced millions more. It has also destroyed Yemen’s infrastructure and spread famine and infectious diseases there.

Despite heavily-armed Saudi Arabia’s incessant bombardment of the country, the Yemeni Armed Forces and Popular Committees have grown steadily in strength against the Saudi-led invaders and left Riyadh and its allies bogged down in the country.
