The corporation confirmed in a statement, on Wednesday, that the continued denial of entry of fuel by the aggression doubles the suffering of the Yemeni people as it results in stopping the operation of power stations, hospital services, medical facilities and water stations.
The statement pointed out that the aggression was not satisfied with the deliberate and repeated bombing of electricity and water stations, but also prevented the entry of its fuel. It considered this as violation of the most basic standards, moral and humanitarian principles, and international laws and norms.
The Corporation holds all human rights and international organizations, led by the United Nations, responsible for all the catastrophic effects of preventing the entry of fuel.
Yemeni Petroleum Company employees organized a protest in front of the United Nations office in Sana'a, to denounce the continued detention of fuel tankers by the US-Saudi aggression.
In a statement they pointed out that the aggression's crimes and threats to target the port of Hodeidah reflect the coalition's disregard for the Charter of the United Nations and its laws aimed at maintaining international peace and security.
The statement stressed that these arbitrary practices of the countries of the aggression, led by the US, reflect a state of dependence and subordination of the United Nations and its officials to the desires and whims of the leaders of the American system and its tools, and these officials' continuous panting behind petrodollars.
Saudi Arabia, backed by the US and its other regional allies, launched a devastating war on Yemen in March 2015. The seven years and half of war has killed hundreds of thousands of people and destroyed much of the country’s infrastructure. Yemeni people are facing malnutrition, hunger, and famine, which have increased risks of disease and starvation.
As part of its economic war, the US-Saudi aggression worked to drain about 97% of the Yemeni state’s resources, either by controlling them militarily such as oil and gas sources, freezing Yemeni foreign assets and transferring them to mercenaries and financing coalition operations, or imposing siege on the vital port of Hodeidah and the most important port after Aden, which is still in the grip of Sana’a and out of control of the aggression.
The coalition of aggression continues to piracy, detaining fuel ships, and preventing them from entering the port of Hodeidah, despite obtaining permits from UN, which aggravates the humanitarian catastrophe due to the suspension of many vital service sectors, especially hospitals, electricity, water, cargo trucks, as well as waste trucks.
