News - Yemen: The national negotiating delegation met Thursday with the UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, to discuss the humanitarian situation in Yemen.

During the meeting, the head of the delegation, Mohammad Abdulsalam, stressed the importance of lifting the siege imposed on the Yemeni people.

They also discussed ways of stopping the US-Saudi aggression, addressing its effects, and expediting the prisoners’ exchange issue.

Saudi Arabia, backed by the United States and regional allies, launched the war on Yemen in March 2015, with the goal of bringing the government of former Yemeni president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi back to power.

The US-Saudi aggression continues to target neighborhoods and populated areas and destroy the infrastructure and capabilities of the country, in light of a suspicious international silence.

The war has left hundreds of thousands of Yemenis dead and displaced millions more. It has also destroyed Yemen’s infrastructure and spread famine and infectious diseases there.

The Ministry of Public Health indicated that more than 150 civilians were killed and 350 others were wounded as a result of the escalation of the recent and ongoing aggression during January, including the massacre of the pre-trial prison in Sa’adah, which killed 91 prisoners.
