Yemeni Air Defenses Shot Down US-Made MQ9 Warplane in Al-Jawf

News - Yemen: The Yemeni Armed Forces spokesman, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, announced that the air defenses had shot down MQ9 warplane operated by UAE's Air Force.

"Our air defenses shot down a US-made MQ9 warplane, with a locally-made missile, in the airspace of Al-Jawf Governorate," the Armed Forces spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Sare’e said.

The US-made MQ9 warplane is used by the US Army itself which belonged to the UAE. Four MQ9 warplanes were downed during 2021, according to brigadier General Yahya Sare’e.

The Armed Forces revealed in a press conference regarding the achievements of the Armed Forces during the year 2021 that the Air Defense Forces carried out 1,025 repelling operations, forcing US-Saudi warplanes and drones to leave.

It also carried out 22 shooting down operations, downing six Chinese-made CH4 warplanes belonging to the Saudi Air Force, 12 US-made ScanEagle warplanes, and two Wing Loong 2 planes, in addition to a US-made MQ9 warplanes.

The Yemeni Armed Forces have vowed, though, not to lay down their arms until Yemen's complete liberation from the US-Saudi aggression.

Saudi Arabia is keen to bring in combat drones from multiple countries to gain qualitative air superiority, most notably US, China and Turkey.

With the ability of the Yemeni air defense to shoot down these drones despite their development, it limits the air superiority of the coalition of aggression, thus weakening the card it is betting on in the battlefield.

In the outcome of the air defense's achievements, the coalition of aggression lost dozens of its various aircraft, warplanes and drones.
