News - Yemen: The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hisham Sharaf, met the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Yemen, Hans Grundberg.

During the meeting, They discussed the latest developments on the national arena, including those related to truce and efforts to stop the US-Saudi aggression against Yemen.

The Foreign Minister stressed the need for the world to understand the grievances of the Yemeni people and their steadfastness of US-Saudi aggression and a comprehensive siege, pointing out that the leadership in Sana'a has repeatedly stressed that its hand is extended towards a just peace for the Yemeni people.

He pointed out that the seriousness of showing the intentions of peace on the part of the other side must be translated into practical steps felt by the Yemeni people who are suffering from the worst humanitarian catastrophe as a result of the US-Saudi aggression.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs indicated that among these steps is the interest in re-disbursing the salaries of all state employees, which contributes to alleviating the suffering of state cadres who have been deprived of their right to salary for many years.

He stressed that the implementation of these humanitarian steps represents a positive message to the Yemeni people that there are realistic measures adopted by the UN and taken by the other side to confirm its orientation towards peace.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed the importance of the other party's commitment to the provisions of the temporary truce that entry into effect under the UN, stressing the need to stop violations.

The UN envoy explained that there is an opportunity to consolidate the temporary truce and turn it into a comprehensive cease-fire, leading to a peaceful political settlement, stressing that the Yemeni people deserve all support after the suffering they have suffered.
