News - Yemen: Squadrons of Emirati fighter planes have arrived in Socotra, as part of its attempt to strengthen its presence on the important strategic Yemeni island overlooking the Indian Ocean and the Arabian Sea.

Pro-aggression media reported, on Monday, that Abu Dhabi had sent dozens of combat helicopters to a newly established military base belonging to it, on Abdul Kuri Island.

It pointed out that the arrival of Emirati helicopters to the archipelago is a prelude to the arrival of new naval vessels to the island in the coming days.

The sources indicated that the Emirati occupation and the Zionist entity behind it aim, through the arrival of these warplanes, to strengthen their presence on the Yemeni islands and coasts, to control international shipping routes, as well as to plunder the country's wealth.

For its part, Saudi Arabia, backed by the United States and regional allies, launched the war on Yemen in March 2015, claiming the goal of bringing the government of former Yemeni president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi back to power.

The US-Saudi aggression continues to target neighborhoods and populated areas and destroy the infrastructure and capabilities of the country, in light of a suspicious international silence.

The war has left hundreds of thousands of Yemenis dead and displaced millions more. It has also destroyed Yemen’s infrastructure and spread famine and infectious diseases there.
