US-Saudi Aggression Violates UN Truce in More 71 Incidents

News - Yemen: The US-Saudi aggression and its mercenaries continued to violate the humanitarian and military truce with 71 incidents during the last 24 hours.

A military source revealed that US-Saudi violations in the last 24 hours amounted to 71 violations,  the flight of spy drones and war planes over Marib, Taiz, Al-Jawf, Hajjah, Sa'adah, Al-Dhale'e, Hodeidah and Amran.

The source indicated that the US-Saudi mercenaries launched an attack on the sites of the army and popular committees in Marib governorate. The mercenaries also targeted Yemeni Army's sites in Marib with Katyusha missiles.

The source stated that 17 violations were recorded with live bullets, targeting civilians houses and Army's sites, in Marib, Taiz, Al-Jawf, Hajjah, Lahj, Al-Dhale'e and border frontlines.

Recently, the UN special envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg announced the ceasefire on Friday, saying the two-month truce would come into effect on last Saturday and could be renewed with consent of the parties, Reuters reported.

The deal stipulates halting offensive military operations, including cross-border attacks, and allowing fuel-laden ships to enter Yemen’s lifeline al-Hudaydah port and commercial flights in and out of the airport in the capital Sana’a "to predetermined destinations in the region."

Saudi Arabia, backed by the United States and regional allies, launched the war on Yemen in March 2015, claiming the goal of bringing the government of former Yemeni president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi back to power.

The US-Saudi aggression continues to target neighborhoods and populated areas and destroy the infrastructure and capabilities of the country, in light of a suspicious international silence.

The war has left hundreds of thousands of Yemenis dead and displaced millions more. It has also destroyed Yemen’s infrastructure and spread famine and infectious diseases there.
