News - Yemen:  An investigation revealed the total losses during the 7 years of the US-Saudi aggression and siege imposed on Yemen. The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Public Finance for the Planning and Statistics Sector, Ahmed Hajar, stated that the aggression and siege on Yemen caused a decline in the gross domestic product by 46% compared to 2014.

He explained that the cumulative losses of the decline in the domestic product amounted to 160 billion dollars, and that there are international reports that confirmed the departure of about 120 billion dollars from the national capital.

It pointed out that the country's losses increased with the exposure of the state's public financial resources to open and permanent looting by mercenaries and the cessation of grants and aid.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning and Development, Adel Al-Hoshabi, said that the continuation of the siege imposed on Yemen constitutes a major obstacle to development and results new losses. He added that targeting different economic structures doubled the suffering of society at various levels, especially public services. He stated that the indirect losses to the national economy are much more than the direct losses and the challenges facing the advancement are great.

A source in the Supreme Economic Committee said that the total revenues looted from the state's public financial resources by the mercenaries of the aggression amounted to 8.6 trillion riyals ($15 billion) until February 2022.

Earlier, The Gas Company announced Tuesday that the revenues from maintenance work for gas cylinders have been transferred to the Central Bank in Marib since 2016.

The official spokesman for the Gas Company, Ali Maasar, indicated that the Central Bank in Marib did not carry out maintenance work despite our continuous demand for them through the leadership of the Yemeni Gas Company in Sana'a.

He held the US-Saudi mercenaries in Marib Bank responsible for holding the maintenance revenues, which caused the loss of more citizens' lives as a result of damaged gas cylinders.

In the same regard, the UAE-Saudi occupied Marib city is witnessing a fuel crisis, as long queues of cars were seen in front of gas stations.

According to Saba agency, a local source explained that the fuel crisis in the city comes as officials and leaders in Saudi-backed government are selling the quantities produced from the Safer fields designated for official stations on the black market to reap profits at the expense of the suffering of citizens in the city and Wadi districts.

The source indicated that the US-Saudi mercenaries had deprived the citizens in the liberated 11 districts of their shares of fuel produced from Safer, as Saudi-backed leaders sell the quantities on the black market.

The source confirmed the widespread of popular discontent in the governorate’s regions against corruption and the looting of the oil wealth by the US-Saudi mercenaries, depriving citizens of benefiting from it.
