President to UN Envoy: Suffering of Employees Continues, While Yemeni Wealth Looted by US-Saudi Mercenaries

News - Yemen: President Mahdi Al-Mashat stressed Wednesday the need for the humanitarian truce to contribute in alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people.

President Al-Mashat met in the capital, Sana’a, with the UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundbrog and his special team, in the presence of Parliament Speaker Yahya Ali Al-Ra’i, Prime Minister Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtoor and Minister of Transport Abdelwahab Al-Durra.

In the meeting, he confirmed that the citizens must perceive the truce’s positive repercussions through the full implementation of its terms and working to pay the salaries of all state employees.

He mentioned the repeated seizure and piracy of fuel tankers by the US-Saudi aggression, in violation of the terms of the humanitarian truce, despite obtaining permits from the United Nations Verification and Inspection Office.

The president also explained that the seizure of the fuel tankers carried out by the US-Saudi aggression led to raise fines, which doubled the suffering of the Yemeni people.

“The repeated cancellation of flights scheduled regarding the humanitarian truce through Sana'a International Airport was considered a clear violation by the US-Saudi aggression of the truce,” he added.

President Al-Mashat said, "The sudden cancellation of flights deprives citizens of benefiting from this truce, describing it as an unacceptable act."

He pointed out that all state employees’ suffering continue as a result of the non-payment of salaries, while the Yemeni people's oil and gas wealth is continuously and openly looted by US-Saudi aggression.

The President Al- reiterated the need for the United Nations to play its role in putting pressure on the other party by supplying all resources from oil and gas, customs and tax fees to pay the salaries of all state employees.

He continued, "We are keen to alleviate the suffering of citizens caused by the aggression and its mercenaries in Taiz and the rest of the governorates."

For his part, the Speaker of the Parliaments said: "We, in Yemen, have been besieged by the US-Saudi aggression for seven years."

He pointed out that the aggression continues its violations to the UN-sponsored truce, including the flying of the spy drones that was downed in the capital, Sana'a, and we did not hear any condemnation of the violations, neither from the Security Council nor from the United Nations.
