Newsweek: Danger Biden Stay Away from Saudi Regime

News - World: The US President Joe Biden must leave tyrannical Saudi Arabia, and turn to the Iranian oil taps, the American Newsweek website said.

It wrote that Saudi Arabia is one of the most ruthlessly authoritarian countries in the world, adding that there is no moral case to favor the Saudis over the Iranians and America's grievances with Iran are often more emotional than rational.

It published a photo of a human rights activist holding a sign that says “Danger Biden: Stay Away from Saudi Regime”, protesting Saudi Arabia during an event to rename the street outside the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Jamal Khashoggi Way on June 15, 2022.

Despite the chilly atmosphere in the relationship between the Saudi regime and Biden, administration officials acknowledge that the Saudis have largely delivered on Washington’s requests, Politico reported.

“By the time National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan made his first trip to Saudi in September, things were beginning to crumble. The meeting didn’t get off to a great start: MBS greeted Sullivan and his team at the Red Sea resort Neom in casual attire, hoping to set a casual tone among friends. The U.S. delegation showed up in formal attire for official talks. When the subject turned to Khashoggi, MBS grew agitated,” it explained.

A few days ago, a source in bin Salman's office revealed to "Khaleej 24" that the meeting between Sullivan and bin Salman focused on the situation in Yemen and the ongoing war there.

It stressed that bin Salman begged Sullivan to work to save the kingdom from the quagmire of the ongoing war for the eighth year in Yemen.

Meanwhile, the Saudi Press Agency reported that during the meeting, they discussed the strategic relations between the two countries and ways to enhance them, in addition to the situation in Yemen.
