News - Yemen: Yemen's ambassador to Syria, Abdullah Sabri, met with a delegation from the Palestinian Resistance Forces Alliance, headed by the Secretary of the High Follow-up Committee (HFC), Ramiz Mustafa.

The meeting discussed the political developments on the Yemen and Palestine and the roles of the resistance axis in confronting the Zionist-American project in the region.

Ambassador Sabri congratulated them for the victory of the Palestinian resistance in the battle of unity of the squares, praising the struggles and sacrifices of the Palestinian people from Gaza to the West Bank and inside the prisons of the occupation.

Regarding the developments of the UN-sponsored truce in Yemen, Sabri confirmed the readiness of the Yemeni Army and the Popular Committees for any possible military escalation, expressing Yemen’s belief in confroning the Zionist enemy and supporting the Palestinian cause.

For his part, the head of the Palestinian delegation expressed the solidarity of the Palestinian resistance factions with the Yemeni people in the face of the barbaric US-Saudi aggression, praising the position of the Yemeni people in support of Palestine.

The delegation members confirmed the exceptional situation that unites the Yemeni and Palestinian peoples as they face with steadfastness the forces of global arrogance.

Tensions have been running high in the occupied territories after the Israeli regime carried out a new massacre in the Gaza Strip on August 5, killing nearly 50 Palestinians, including Taysir al-Jabari, a senior commander of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad resistance movement.

The Israeli airstrikes prompted the al-Quds Brigades, the Islamic Jihad’s military wing, to respond by firing hundreds of rockets toward the occupied territories, pushing the regime forces on the back foot. 

The strong retaliation, as was pledged by the resistance group, forced Tel Aviv to accept an Egyptian-mediated ceasefire, which took effect late on August 7.
