News - Yemen: New British forces arrived during the past hours in Al-Mahra Governorate, on the border with the Sultanate of Oman.

Sources stated that the British forces arrived at the Al-Ghaydah Civil Airport, from which they, along with the American forces, took a military base on the Arabian Sea in eastern Yemen, since the beginning of 2018.

The sources confirmed that the continued influx of foreign forces into Al-Mahra comes in the context of ambitions to control the oil and gas regions far from confrontations with the Sana'a forces.

The sources indicated that foreign forces carry out many hostile tasks, in flagrant violation of Yemeni sovereignty and all international agreements.

Two batches of US forces arrived this month at Al-Ghaydah Airport, coming from Al-Rayyan Airport in Hadhramaut Governorate, which has become a closed US military base since 2016.

Last July, the US-Saudi aggression deployed additional military reinforcements in Al-Mahra, amid reports of the opening of oil wells that were closed for nearly two decades, north of Al-Ghaydah, the capital of the governorate.
