News - Yemen: The Health Minister confirmed that Yemen is facing a high rate of fetal abnormalities, death during childbirth and the number of premature infants as a result of the aggression using prohibited international weapons.

This came in his speech, Thursday, during the start of the first conference to treat infertility in men and women using modern methods.

Minister Dr. Taha Al-Mutawakel said: "The US-Saudi-Emirati aggression on Yemen are committing crime of genocide, destroying of the infrastrustue of the society, manly targeting children and mothers with all kinds of prohibited weapons with the aim of eliminating the human renaissance of Yemen."

He pointed to the ministry's keenness to preserve births in terms of providing equipment and building capacities, noting that until the year 2018, there were only 94 nurseries, and today there are more than 500 nurseries.

Most of the population in Yemen lacks health care because of the destruction of health facilities in their areas or because of the lack of energy, medicines and medical equipment as a result of the siege imposed on them.

The fuel crisis compounded the situation and led to an almost complete paralysis of the health sector, threatening to close many of them, especially the private sector hospitals. Private hospitals in the capital, Sana’a, confirmed that the closure had become a serious issue, due to the lack of fuel.

The Ministry of Health in Sana'a has informed the international and UN organizations of the seriousness of the situation and the need for action to bring in fuel ships, and so far there is no positive sign.
