Al-Ejri Holds US-Saudi Aggression Responsible for Obstructing Truce

News - Yemen:   Member of the National Delegation, Abdulmalik Al-Ejri, held the US-Saudi aggression responsible for obstructing the truce.

In a tweet, Al-Ejri said that the coalition labeling of truce as between Sana'a and Saudi-backed Council is, in itself, an obstruction and evasion of responsibility.

Earlier, the Yemeni Petroleum Company (YPC) said, "The US-Saudi aggression seized a new diesel ship, bringing the number of seized fuel ships to ten."

It pointed out that the number of currently detained fuel ships has risen to ten, indicating that their continued detention is causing delay fines on these ships, "Demerg", incurred by the Yemeni people and compounding their suffering.

Al-Mutawakel holds the US-Saudi aggression and the UN to be fully responsible for the humanitarian and economic repercussions resulting from the continuation of the blockade and the detention of fuel ships and preventing their entry to the port of Hodeidah.

The YPC holds the US-Saudi aggression and the UN responsible for all the direct and indirect humanitarian and economic consequences and repercussions resulting from the continuation of the strict blockade on fuel ships.

A UN-brokered truce in Yemen first came into effect on 2 April, and for an initial two months.  It was renewed for another two months in June. The deal stipulated halting offensive military operations, including cross-border attacks, and allowing fuel-laden ships to enter Yemen's lifeline Hodeidah port and commercial flights in and out of the airport in the capital Sana'a "to predetermined destinations in the region."

However, in light of UN silence, the Saudi-led aggression was still obstructing flights to the Sana'a International Airport in Yemen’s capital and detaining fuel ships that were headed to the country. The fires of the aggression side did not subside along the fronts, on the borders and inside, including shelling, reconnaissance, development and crawl.

Vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff for the Yemeni Army, Ali al-Mushki, slammed the United Nations’ silence over the seizure of the Yemeni fuel ships by the coalition, urging the UN to adopt a clear stance in this regard.

Al-Mushki’s remarks came on Monday in a meeting with Vivian van de Perre, deputy head of the UN Mission to support the Hudaydah Agreement (UNMHA), after the Saudi-led coalition banned yet another Yemen-bound ship carrying tons of fuel from docking at the Hudaydah port.

Citing terms of the Stockholm peace agreement, the Yemeni official said the confiscation of Yemen-bound fuel ships is a “flagrant violation” of the agreement, which stipulates the smooth flow of goods to Hudaydah port.

Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates — the closest allies of the US in the region after the Israeli regime — have been waging the war on Yemen since March 2015.

The invasion has been seeking to change Yemen’s ruling structure in favor of the impoverished country’s former Riyadh- and Washington-friendly rulers . The coalition, however, has failed to meet any of its objectives.

The war has killed tens of thousands of Yemenis and turned the entire country into the scene of the world’s worst humanitarian crisis.
