Addressing a cabinet meeting in the Iranian capital Tehran, Raeisi pointed to recent foreign-backed riots in Iran in the wake of a young Iranian woman's death and said the enemy’s efforts to sow sedition were because "it feels threatened by the power and progress" of the Islamic Republic.
He highlighted the need to speak about this “honorable power” by creating “lasting cultural works” so that “enemies will admit to it and the new generation will get acquainted with its different aspects.”
Protests over the death of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Iranian woman who fainted at a police station last week and was later pronounced dead at a hospital, erupted first in her native province of Kurdistan and later spread to other parts of the country, including Tehran.
The CCTV footage released by the police showed no force used on her while in their custody, dismissing reports of foul play in her tragic death
