Yemen's Foreign Ministry Denounces Provocative British Foreign Office Behavior with Yemenis Human Rights

News - Yemen: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the provocative language that the UK Foreign Office has consistently used in dealing with human rights and the basic needs of the Yemeni people.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounced the statement of the United Kingdom’s Foreign Office, which includes a disgusting threat to deprive the people of Yemen of their right to travel and movement and their right to obtain fuel, food and medical goods.

The UK Foreign Office stressed that none of this will continue if the people of Yemen do not accept the extension.

"This language reflected a miserable attempt to cover up the intransigence of the countries involved in aggression, as well as the usual British barbarism," the statement said. “But from another angle, it provides a clear recognition and public acknowledgment that Britain and the coalition of aggression are using the siege of the Yemeni people and depriving them of their basic needs as a military weapon, and this is a war crime and a crime against humanity.”

"While the Sana'a government records this important acknowledgment, it affirms that the Yemeni people retain their legal right to pursue the British government and the rest of the countries involved in aggression for all war crimes that have affected Yemen's land and people," it added.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that Sana’a has proven to the Yemeni people and all the peoples of the world its keenness for peace. "With regard to the extension, Sana’a did not make any impossible demands that might, for example, necessitate any concessions from the countries involved in aggression or ever detract from the rights of peoples in these or other countries, but these demands were and still fall within the exclusive human rights of the Yemeni people."

"Therefore, whoever rejects the right of the Yemeni people to benefit from its oil wealth and to obtain fuel, food and medicine without hindrances is the party that will bear full responsibility for obstructing and impeding the extension," it added.

The Ministry added that in view of the British threat to repeat war crimes and prevent the Yemeni people from their most basic human rights, Sana’a tells London and all the capitals that share these criminal intentions that the Yemeni people will not give up their rights.

The statement stressed that such barbaric threats will only increase the National Salvation Government's insistence on adhering to the full and undiminished rights of the Yemeni people. It pledges to continue the struggle for peace, which can only be achieved by respecting the rights of Yemen.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs renewed its call on the United Nations to assume its responsibility towards these methods that obstruct peace. It emphasizes at the same time that the Yemeni people will not continue to suffer alone indefinitely, and that the Yemeni government and people will be concerned only with respecting the rights and interests of those who respect the rights and interests of the Yemeni people.

Yemen's National Delegation on Saturday made it clear that since the start of the truce, despite the delay, the National team was keen not to miss any opportunity that could lead to peace.

It stated that the National Team was dealing with restraint towards the US-Saudi violations to give more time to international deliberations and efforts.

It stressed that Sana'a did not have any special agenda other than Yemen's interest, human and legal rights.

It pointed out that the National Party accepted the first and second extension in hope of any sense of responsibility or understanding on the part of the US-Saudi Aggression and its mercenaries.

"During the six months of the truce, there was not any seriousness to address the humanitarian issue as an urgent priority," it added. "The US-Saudi aggression bet on the economic card, the continuation of the siege is clear after all their other aggressive plans have failed."

The National Delegation held the US-Saudi aggression responsible for reaching a dead end as a result of their intransigence and their disavowal of measures that alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.
