Bin Salman will Regret Power Game Against Biden

News - Middle East: "It is time for America to admit that the "realistic approach" towards Saudi Arabia has failed, and that the oil-for-security deal must be torn up," the American magazine "The Week" said.

The magazine stated that even those who defended the US-Saudi partnership; They began to wonder what Washington would get in return for decades of unwavering support for the Saud.

It pointed out that the reliable supply of oil is the main goal of the relationship between America and Saudi Arabia. The magazine stated that Mohammed bin Salman, may think that he has outperformed President Joe Biden and demonstrated his influence on the global oil market.

The production cut will also cause a major backlash in Washington. Lawmakers are already calling for a reevaluation of the U.S.-Saudi relationship after President Joe Biden’s visit to the kingdom in July failed to produce tangible benefits.

The White House says it will consult with Congress on “additional tools and authorities to reduce OPEC’s control over energy prices.”

Higher oil prices could worsen global economic woes and alienate importing countries, and the U.S.-Saudi relationship will deteriorate.

US researcher John Alterman said that the OPEC decision is read as a challenge to America, so the White House will have to respond for political and diplomatic reasons.

The American “Bloomberg” agency published an article entitled: “Putin has finally found a true friend in Saudi Arabia,” referring to its Mohammed bin Salman reducing oil production.

“If the Saudis want a relationship based on strict economic dealings; The relationship will no longer become symbiotic,” the agency said. It indicated that America will deal with Saudi Arabia routinely, and will significantly reduce the level of diplomatic relations.

Bloomberg confirmed that US President Joe Biden should hit Saudi Arabia where it really hurts. It cautioned that the White House is considering its next steps after OPEC + cut oil production.
