Oil Minister: Sana'a Will Not Stand Idly by in Face of Any Economic Escalation by US-Saudi Aggression

News - Yemen: The Minister of Oil and Minerals, Ahmed Daris, affirmed that Yemen's Salvation Government will not stand idly by in front of any economic escalation of US-Saudi aggression.

"Sana'a will not stand idly in front of any escalation by the aggression with the economic card," Daris stated to Almasirah on Saturday.

He called on foreign companies that intend to carry out new looting operations in the future to return to Sana'a before taking any step related to sovereign wealth. He warned of undesirable consequences if Sana'a's warnings were not taken seriously.

On November 21, Yemen's Armed Forces thwarted an attempt to loot crude oil from the port of Al-Dhabbah in Hadhramaut Governorate, used for smuggling by the US-Saudi aggression.

The Armed Forces spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Sare’e stressed that the enemy tried to take measures to avoid direction but the Armed Forces were able to monitor and deal with the situation.

The Armed Forces reiterated their commitment to protecting the sovereign national wealth as one of the rights of the Yemeni people.

On November 10th, Yemeni Armed Forces thwarted an attempt to loot crude oil from the port of Qena in Shabwa Governorate, used by the US-Saudi aggression for smuggling.

In late October, Yemen's Armed Forces announced in a military statement the implementation of a warning drone strike to prevent an oil ship that was trying to loot crude oil through the port of Dabba in Hadramout Governorate.

Brigadier Sare'e explained that the warning message came to prevent the continuous looting of oil wealth and not to allocate it to serve the people in paying salaries and services.

He pointed out that the message was after addressing the ship operators and informing them of the decision based on the Yemen laws in force and international laws. He pointed out that the ship was dealt "with cautionary measures through which the Yemeni Armed Forces were keen to preserve the safety and security of Yemen's infrastructure and the security of the ship and its crew."
