Al-Nuaimi: Saudi Arabia Attempting to End Its Aggression against Yemen on Its Terms

News - Yemen: Mohammed Saleh Al-Nuaimi, a member of Supreme Political Council, affirmed, Saturday, that Saudi Arabia’s desire to end the war on its terms remains just aspirations that are overridden by logic, existing reality and history.

The members of the Supreme Political Council stressed that the Saudi regime must recognize that the people of Yemen imposed a reality different from what before they start the aggression against Yemen.

Recently, Abdulsalam said, in a statement to Almasirah that since the end of the truce, the National Delegation has held intensive discussions with several parties, including direct meetings with the Saudi side and the United Nations in Muscat. He mentioned that Sayyed Abdulmalik Al-Houthi warned of targeting economic situation in Yemen, stressing that it will turn table on negotiations.

Abdulsalam said: "Our forces on the field imposed new rules of engagement, and the other side must realize the fact that we have entered a new phase, and currently we are not facing any commitment regarding the cease-fire, but there are respectable efforts made by the brothers in Oman in parallel with discussing ideas to achieve progress." He added that the humanitarian issue, foremost of which is the payment of salaries according to the 2014 oil and gas budget, is still our priority in the negotiations, pointing out that oil and gas exports must be invested for paying salaries to all employees without exception.

Abdulsalam noted that talking about permanent ceasefire must be met with permanent lifting of siege, the payment of salaries, and the departure of the occupier, stressing that we cannot go to political dialogue in light of a complex humanitarian and economic crisis. The head of the National Delegation warned of any economic measures targeting our country that might turn the tables and bring us back to square one.

On Wednesday, the head of the National Delegation, Mohammad Abdulsalam, confirmed that the visit of the Omani delegation comes to communicate the ideas and proposals that were carried out in the discussions with the Saudis and international parties.

Abdulsalam said, in a statement to Almasirah, that the US-Saudi aggression makes promises that have no effect regarding the payment of state employees salaries, the end of the siege, and the departure of foreign .

For its part, Supreme Political Council announced its rejection of the continuation of the state of no peace and nor war, which the US-Saudi aggression aims to keep Yemen in, stressing that it will not continue indefinitely.

This came during its meeting chaired by Mahdi Al-Mashat, where the council was briefed on the existing contacts regarding the talks between Yemen and coalition  related to stopping the aggression and lifting the siege, and its results.

The meeting reaffirmed Yemen's firm stance towards peace that protects Yemen's sovereignty and independence and preserves its unity, welcoming all serious steps in this context.

It pointed out that keenness to achieve peace in Yemen should be embodied by responding to the rights of citizens, foremost of which is the payment of salaries to all state employees and the lifting of the comprehensive blockade.

The meeting stressed the separation of the humanitarian issue from the political and military, stressing that progress in this issue is an indicator of credibility in the success of any mediations, contacts or talks.

The meeting reviewed the reports submitted on the readiness of the armed forces to prevent American and Zionist ambitions in Yemeni wealth, islands and waterways.

The reports emphasized the readiness of the armed forces to confront any threat to Yemeni sovereignty, and that any measures that would double the suffering of the Yemeni people, whether on the economic, humanitarian or military level, would have bad consequences.
