Prisoners Affairs Announce Agreement of Deal to Swap More Than 880 Prisoners

News - Yemen: The head of the National Committee for Prisoners Affairs, Abdulaqdir Al-Murtadha, Monday, announced that an agreement had been reached to swap 706 of Yemeni prisoners in prisons of the US-Saudi aggression, in exchange for 181 prisoners of the aggression coalition, including Saudis and Sudanese.

 

Al-Murtadha wrote in a tweet, "We completed the round of negotiations on the prisoner issue, here in (Switzerland). Thank God, it was agreed to implement a wide exchange deal that includes 706 of our prisoners in exchange for 181 prisoners of the other side, including Saudis and Sudanese."

He added, "The deal will be implemented after three weeks, and another round will be held after the month of Ramadan to complete the implementation of the rest of the agreement."

Later, Al-Murtadha pointed out that among those included in the prisoner exchange agreement, the Yemeni detainee in the prisons of the Islah party in Marib, Samira Marsh, the abductees from the Al-Ameer's family, and a number of Yemenis sentenced to death by the Saudi regime.

In the same context, Almasirah reported that the round of negotiations for the exchange of prisoners was attended by representatives of Saudi Arabia, and it lasted for nearly 10 days and ended this morning.

An informed source stated that, "at the time, that the sessions were held to discuss what was reached regarding the prisoners’ issue in the sixth round in Amman, and to review and correct the lists.

The source indicated that the delegation of the other party arrived on Friday, March 10, and includes three Saudis and a number of representatives of the pro-aggression government.

 

On Thursday, March 9, the delegation of the National Committee for Prisoners' Affairs, headed by the Chairman of the Committee, Abdulqadir Al-Murtadha, went to Switzerland to participate in a new round of negotiations over the prisoners' issue, where the Chairman of the National Committee for Prisoners' Affairs expressed his hope that the new round of negotiations in Geneva, under the UN sponsoring , would be decisive for the human file.
 
The head of the National Negotiating Delegation had revealed, earlier today, that the ongoing negotiations on the prisoner issue are heading towards completing an exchange deal that includes 700 prisoners, including women and civilians, in exchange for the release of 15 Saudi prisoners of war, 3 Sudanese and others.

In a tweet, Mohammed Abdulsalam stated, "Based on the Stockholm agreement, and after rounds of negotiations to deal with the prisoners' issue, the ongoing negotiations in Geneva, under UN auspices, are heading towards reaching a humanitarian deal."

He explained that "the exchange deal includes the liberation of 700 prisoners, including women and civilians, in exchange for the release of 15 Saudi prisoners of war, 3 Sudanese and others."

On Saturday, March 11, near the Swiss capital, Bern, a new round of consultations began between the National Committee for Prisoners' Affairs and the Aggression Alliance regarding the prisoners' issue.
