Prisoner's affairs: Disagreements Between Aggression's Parties Prevented Reaching Comprehensive Agreement

News - Yemen: The head of the Prisoners' Affairs Committee, Abdulqadir al-Murtadha, said that the disagreements between the parties of the US-Saudi aggression coalition prevented reaching a comprehensive agreement for the prisoners on the basis of all for all.

Al-Murtadha indicated that the other side sought to liberate Saudi prisoners and some leaders, while the national side in Sana'a was keen on liberating the largest number of its prisoners.

He added, "The National Delegation called for the presence of the Emirates, but the Saudi side confirmed that it is the one leading the coalition countries and that it represents all parties."

Al-Murtadha said that the signed agreement consists of three titles, which are making the deal in the numbers that were announced, then forming committees from both parties to visit prisons, and agreeing on a new round that will be held next May.

Al-Murtadha pointed out that the implementation of the first phase of the prisoners' agreement will take place in the middle of the blessed month of Ramadan, expressing his hope that the other party will not evade implementation.

Earlier, the head of the National Committee for Prisoners Affairs, Abdulaqdir Al-Murtadha, announced that an agreement had been reached to swap 706 of Yemeni prisoners in prisons of the US-Saudi aggression, in exchange for 181 prisoners of the aggression coalition, including Saudis and Sudanese.

Al-Murtadha wrote in a tweet, "We completed the round of negotiations on the prisoner issue, here in (Switzerland). Thank God, it was agreed to implement a wide exchange deal that includes 706 of our prisoners in exchange for 181 prisoners of the other side, including Saudis and Sudanese."

He added, "The deal will be implemented after three weeks, and another round will be held after the month of Ramadan to complete the implementation of the rest of the agreement."

Later, Al-Murtadha pointed out that among those included in the prisoner exchange agreement, the Yemeni detainee in the prisons of the Islah party in Marib, Samira Marsh, the abductees from the Al-Ameer's family, and a number of Yemenis sentenced to death by the Saudi regime.
