News - Yemen: The head of Supreme Political Council, Mahdi Al-Mashat, affirmed that the media professionals in all national institutions were able, through their simple capabilities, to confront the US-Saudi aggression and thwart it, during eight years of aggression.

He considered the great role of the national media and their continuation in the battle to be no less than the role of those stationed on the frontlines, explaining that the media front is no less important than the military and security front.

He pointed out that the countries of aggression use blockade and mass starvation as a weapon of war against people of Yemen in all provinces, a crime described in UN charters and laws as the crime of genocide.

He urged all media professionals to exert more effort and produce awareness programs for the people of Yemen about the effects and dangers of the American blockade and the suffering it inflicted on citizens in all governorates.

The head of the Supreme Political Council stated that one of the tasks of the media is to protect and guard minds. "Yemen is exposed to a fierce media war that parallels the military war, and it is unreasonable for the media to come under any name to prejudice the freedom, independence and security of the country and the people," he said.

Earlier, the President stressed the need for media professionals to remain on the foundations and constants that are considered strategic and important for media work so that the enemy would not be able to get them into the maze of quarrels.

He affirmed to media professionals the need for everyone to understand that the first enemy is the US and Israel, and that the countries of aggression are nothing but tools and financiers of their plans and goals.

He also pointed to the importance of discipline in implementing the directives that come from the leadership, in order to avoid improvisation and randomness.
