Defense Minister Warns of Severe Repercussions If US-Saudi Aggression Continues

News - Yemen: Minister of Defense Major General Mohammad Al-Atefi affirmed on Wednesday that the state of no peace nor war will not last long.

"We will not accept imperfect positions and suffocation the economy, so we reiterate our warning that we will not accept the continuation of the blockade of Yemen's ports," he added.

He pointed out that the Yemeni Armed Forces are obliged to adopt the port-for-port equation if necessary to lift the blockade.

"Our patience is running out, and if the countries of aggression continue to be indifferent, they must wait for the painful response," the Minister of Defense warned. "Sana'a is with full, honorable and just peace, but the other side is pursuing fraud positions."

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defense and the Yemeni Chiefs of Staff issued a statement on the advent of Ramadan, calling for "the month of goodness to be the beginning to prove the good will of all those who claim to be peace advocates."

They warned that Yemen’s response to new attacks would be surprising, telling the US-Saudi aggression to take the warning seriously.

"The sovereignty of our homeland and our wealth is a legitimate right that cannot be bargained upon, and we will sacrifice everything in order to defend it," Yemeni Minister of Defense Major General Mohammad Nasser Al-Atefi and Chief of the Yemeni General Staff Major General Mohammad Abdul-Karim al-Ghamari said in a joint statement to President Mahdi Al-Mashat, and the members of the Supreme Political Council.

"Our people will not accept the presence of a foreign occupier in any part of its geography, on land or at sea," the statement said. "The coalition of aggression and its sponsors must take our warnings seriously."

The Ministry of Defense and the Chiefs of Staff renewed the warning, saying: "If the enemy continues to evade and escalate with its mercenaries, our response will be surprising to it, and at that time it will not help it to regret."

The warning come as the US-Saudi aggression continues attacks on Yemeni civilians, including women and children.

The war has claimed the lives of hundreds of thousands in Yemen and also displaced millions of people, rendering them homeless, destroying the country’s infrastructure and spawning the contemporary age’s worst humanitarian catastrophe.

The most recent truce, which began in April 2022, had rekindled hopes of peace, but the Saudi-led coalition breached the terms of the ceasefire agreement.
