The ministry indicated that more than 96 large industrial facilities belonging to the public and private sectors were completely destroyed.
The ministry estimated the size of the direct and indirect damages in the industrial sector, at more than seven billion and 350 million dollars. It indicated that more than 460 small and medium facilities, of which 73% are small projects and 27% are medium projects, were damaged by the US-Saudi aggression.
It pointed out that the activities of more than 44,000 production plants and a large number of establishments have stopped as a result of the high prices of production inputs. It indicated that the private sector incurred huge losses estimated at more than $75 billion as initial estimates.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade added that the US-Saudi aggression targeted more than 700 popular and central markets in the governorates, with losses estimated at more than one billion and 400 million dollars.
It added that more than 71 billion and 840 million dollars were the primary losses incurred by foreign trade during the years of US-Saudi aggression.
It stressed that the basic needs of commodities and production inputs were absent due to the restrictions of the blockade, which negatively affected food security and the economic situation.
Saudi Arabia, backed by the United States and regional allies, launched the war on Yemen in March 2015, claiming the goal of bringing the government of former Yemeni president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi back to power.
The US-Saudi aggression continues to target neighborhoods and populated areas and destroy the infrastructure and capabilities of the country, in light of a suspicious international silence.
The war has left hundreds of thousands of Yemenis dead and displaced millions more. It has also destroyed Yemen’s infrastructure and spread famine and infectious diseases there.
