The Leader hoped, in his Ramadan lecture on Saturday, that "Syria will move to a strategy of deterrence so that the Zionist enemy knows that for every aggression it carries out against Syria, it will be struck at home."
Sayyed Abdulmalik pointed out that "the danger to the Nation is leaving jihad and not moving in confronting its enemies, which increases its enemies' greed for it."
The Sana’a government has always condemned Israel's targeting of Syrian lands.
"The Zionist aggression against Damascus is a flagrant violation of Syria's sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, and evidence that the Zionist enemy is an eternal enemy of the Arab and Islamic Nations," it said recently.
The Foreign Ministry in Sana'a recently expressed its solidarity with “Syria, the government and people." It stressed "Damascus' right to take whatever measures it deems appropriate to defend itself and protect its lands."
Known as one of the main supporters of terrorist groups that have battled the government of President Bashar al-Assad since foreign-backed militants erupted in Syria in early 2011, the Israeli regime frequently violates Syrian sovereignty and targets military positions.
It specifically targets bases of the resistance movement which have played a vital role in helping the Syrian army fight foreign-backed terrorists.
Israel largely remains silent about the attacks. Damascus has repeatedly complained to the UN over Israeli assaults, urging the Security Council to take action against Tel Aviv’s crimes. The calls have, however, fallen on deaf ears.
Half an hour after Sayyed Abdulmalik's speech, the Israeli regime's military says several rockets have been fired from the direction of Syria towards the Arab country's occupied Golan Heights.
The first wave of the rocket fire included three projectiles on Saturday, which was followed by three more rockets early Sunday.
The Israeli military alleged that one of the first three rockets crossed into what it called Israeli-controlled territory "and landed in open areas in the southern Golan Heights."
As for the second wave of rockets, the regime's military claimed that two of them fell in an open area and one was intercepted by the so-called Iron Dome, causing no damage or injuries.
The rockets caused missile sirens to sound in the area.
Israeli military later announced that it had targeted the area in Syria from which rockets were launched with artillery fire. It added that an Israeli drone has also carried out strikes on that area.
