Yemeni Forces Achieve Strategic Victory in Red Sea, Challenging U.S. and Israeli Naval Power

World: U.S. media has intensified its coverage of the Red Sea battles, yet consistently highlights the reality that the Yemenis have achieved a strategic victory in this unexpected conflict.

Focusing on the American aircraft carrier "Eisenhower," a report from the Counterterrorism Center at the U.S. Military Academy, released Tuesday, sheds light on the impact of Yemeni military operations on Israeli ships, as well as American and British naval forces in the Red Sea. The report also raises questions about the effectiveness of U.S. strategy in the region.

According to the report, a Yemeni missile passed within meters of the U.S. aircraft carrier last July, nearly causing a major American military loss. The precise execution of the attack reflects significant advancements in Yemen’s missile and defense capabilities.

The report emphasized that this incident is not isolated but part of an organized and ongoing campaign by Sana'a forces targeting Israeli, American, and British naval vessels in the Red Sea. The Yemenis have been able to withstand pressures and expand their operations, signaling the failure of Western strategies to protect Israeli navigation and counter these naval operations, which are carried out in solidarity with the Palestinian people.

The report also highlighted that the Yemeni Armed Forces have achieved a strategic victory through these operations. In addition to challenging a global power like the United States, they have successfully drawn international attention to the Palestinian cause and garnered regional support. They have also imposed significant costs on the global economy.

The American report indicated that Yemeni forces have become an increasingly influential regional power, requiring Western nations to adopt a comprehensive approach that considers political, economic, and military dimensions when confronting them.

Amid the discussion about the "Eisenhower," the U.S. has adopted a policy of concealment, avoiding full disclosure to prevent embarrassment over its conflict with Yemen in the Red Sea.

One key example of this is the U.S. Navy's announcement on Tuesday of the deaths of two pilots aboard the "Eisenhower" in the Red Sea. The U.S. Navy described the deaths as a result of an "accidental" crash during a training mission near Mount Rainier in Washington, but added that the pilots had been part of military missions over Yemen.

Although the U.S. military stated that the pilots died in an "accidental" crash, the fact that they had been stationed aboard the "Eisenhower" in the Red Sea and participated in military operations over Yemen suggests they may have died elsewhere—potentially even in Yemen.

President Biden described the pilots as "among the best," implying that their deaths dealt a severe blow and casting doubt on the "accidental" nature of the incident.

It is worth noting that the "USS Eisenhower" returned to the United States last June after spending approximately eight months in the Red Sea. During that time, the U.S. Navy described facing "the most intense naval confrontation since World War II," in which Washington failed to deter Yemeni military operations conducted in solidarity with the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples, in support of their resistance movements.
