250 Yemeni Armed Forces, Detainees in US-Saudi Prisons Arrive Sana’a

News - Yemen: 250 prisoners arrived at Sana'a International Airport, Friday among the first batch of prisoners of the Yemeni Armed Forces, as well as detainees in the prisons of aggression and their mercenaries.

An official and popular gathering went to receive the prisoners at Sana'a International Airport, presented by members of the Supreme Political Council, the Prime Minister, Chief of Staff Major General Muhammad al-Ghamari, senior state officials, and military and political leaders.

The director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic, Ahmed Hamid, said in a statement to the correspondent of Almasirah Network: We will not abandon our prisoners at all, adding that the pride and dignity we are in is caused by the sacrifices of the martyrs, the wounded and the prisoners.

The prisoners went to participate with the masses who commemorated Quds Day, and they raised the flags of Palestine, affirming the presence of Palestine in the heart of every Yemeni prisoner, fighter, or civilian.

On March 20, Al-Murtadha announced that an agreement had been reached to swap 706 of Yemeni prisoners in prisons of the US-Saudi aggression, in exchange for 181 prisoners of the aggression, including Saudis and Sudanese.

The implementation of the deal was scheduled to start on the 19th of Ramadan, and it was delayed until the 23rd of Ramadan, due to the claim of the Saudi-backed parties in Marib that it was not ready.

On Saturday, Al-Murtadha confirmed that the ICRC had informed the committee of postponing the implementation of the exchange deal due to the lack of readiness of the Saudi-backed parties in Marib.

He explained in a tweet that "what is happening is a clear obstruction of the agreement and a renunciation of commitment, calling on the United Nations to pressure the parties to the aggression to stop these irresponsible and inhumane practices."
