News - Yemen: The head of the National Committee for Prisoners’ Affairs, Abdulqadir Al-Murtadha, confirmed that the release of the prisoner, Major General Faisal Rajab, took place without charge, in honor of the Abyan tribes.

"We confirm once again that the prisoner Faisal Rajab was not part of the upcoming deal, and we have all the documents proving that," Al-Murtadha said in a statement to Almasirah on Sunday.
 
Al-Murtadha pointed out that "there is selectivity by the US-Saudi aggression and its mercenaries for their prisoners according to affiliation and region," stressing readiness to implement an all-for-all deal, while the Saudi-backed party is not ready for that.

The head of the Prisoners' Affairs Committee mentioned that "Sana'a still has many cards that we will negotiate to release all our prisoners."

Faisal Rajab is a prisoner with the Yemeni Armed Forces. The US-Saudi aggression and the Saudi-backed government abandoned his inclusion in the prisoner exchange list.

Earlier on Sunday, in the capital Sana'a, the prisoner Rajab was handed over to the tribal sheikhs of Abyan, Shabwa and Al-Baidha, under the directives of the Leader of the Revolution, Sayyed Abdulmalik Al-Houthi.

In January 2022, the Head of the Prisoners’ Committee, Abdulqadir Al-Murtadha, confirmed that the US-Saudi aggression targeted the house of the high profile war prisoner, Faisal Rajab, directly. In a surprise to everyone,  instead of demanding or accepting its release in an exchange, the US-Saudi airstrike killed members of his family.

Al-Murtadha revealed the criminal tendency of the US-Saudi aggression, which does not take into account the sanctity of anyone, even the closest mercenaries working for it.
