News - Yemen: President Mahdi Al-Mashat, head of Supreme Political Council, warned that the US and UK are seeking to push for escalation, stressing that the whole world would be affected if the US-Saudi aggression backed against Yemen.

This came during his meeting with the UN Special Envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, and his accompanying team.

In the meeting, the latest developments related to establishing peace, stopping US-Saudi aggression and lifting the unjust siege on Yemen were discussed.

The president stressed that the US and UK are the ones who put obstacles in the way of all attempts to bring peace to Yemen.

He pointed out that whenever there is any understanding between Yemen and Saudi Arabia, the US rushes to send its envoy to the region, and all efforts fail.

"The US role in the aggression and siege on Yemen and the thwarting of peace efforts confirms that it is behind all its suffering, and that it always seeks to continue the war, fighting any efforts for peace," president Al-Mashat said.

"We are ready for peace or war, and the US-Saudi aggression chooses the path it wants, as we are in the position of legitimate defense of our country, our freedom and our independence,” he said.

Al-Mashat pointed out that the initiative to release prisoner Faisal Rajab confirms that we are able to restore our unity in absence of external interference.

Earlier, Sayyed Abdulmalik pointed out that "when we allow continuation of negotiations and dialogues, this does not mean that we will continue indefinitely," warning by saying: "Time may run out and we may return to pressing options to obtain our people's right to their wealth."

Sayyed Abdulmalik explained that: "One of the steps we are taking at the current stage is to prevent the plundering of the oil wealth and prevent its export abroad and the theft of its price, and we succeeded, thanks to God, in that."

He also stressed that: "In any negotiations, we will not accept neglecting the achievements and gains of our people regarding freedom, independence and dignity, and these are red lines that we cannot neglect.”

Sayyed Abdulmalik stressed that the course of any dialogue or agreement must lead to the withdrawal of the occupation forces and the prevention of interference in our internal affairs.
