News - Yemen: The Supreme Political Council, in its meeting chaired by Mahdi Al-Mashat, commemorated the 33rd anniversary of Yemen's unification, stressing that unity is the destiny and will of the people and the Yemeni people will preserve it.

The Council pointed out that the ambitions of US-Saudi occupiers to harm Yemen's land and people will not happen, and that the plots of the enemies of Yemen have become exposed and rejected by all the Yemeni people in all governorates

It stressed that those involved in insulting Yemen and obstructing peace paths must respect the decision and will of the Yemeni people, who were able, during eight years of aggression change all equations.

The Council renewed Sana'a's firm stance on peace, stressing that Saudi Arabia is responsible for the region stability and its continued obstruction of resolving the humanitarian issue will lead to escalation.

Recently, President Mahdi Al-Mashat, head of the Supreme Political Council, warned that the US and UK are seeking to push for escalation, stressing that the whole world would be affected if the US-Saudi aggression backed against Yemen.

This came during his meeting with the UN Special Envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, and his accompanying team.

In the meeting, the latest developments related to establishing peace, stopping US-Saudi aggression and lifting the unjust siege on Yemen were discussed.

The president stressed that the US and UK are the ones who put obstacles in the way of all attempts to bring peace to Yemen.

He pointed out that whenever there is any understanding between Yemen and Saudi Arabia, the US rushes to send its envoy to the region, and all efforts fail.

"The US role in the aggression and siege on Yemen and the thwarting of peace efforts confirms that it is behind all its suffering, and that it always seeks to continue the war, fighting any efforts for peace," president Al-Mashat said.

"We are ready for peace or war, and the US-Saudi aggression chooses the path it wants, as we are in the position of legitimate defense of our country, our freedom and our independence,” he said.

Al-Mashat pointed out that the initiative to release prisoner Faisal Rajab confirms that we are able to restore our unity in the absence of external interference.
