News - Yemen: The Governor of Aden, Tariq Salam, affirmed that the Yemeni unity is a national achievement for every free Yemeni who does not accept dependence, and a symbol of the unity of the joint Yemeni struggle against the invaders and occupiers.

Governor Salam indicated that the unified Yemen resists conspiracies and will foil the plans of the enemies and those who target its unity, security and stability.

He considered the efforts of the US-Saudi aggression and occupation to undermine Yemeni unity as desperate attempts that reflect the confusion after failing to achieve any achievements on the ground.

“The Yemeni people, who achieved this historic achievement with their sacrifices and struggle, will not compromise or abandon their unity,” he added.

He emphasized the need to rally behind the revolutionary leadership and the Supreme Political Council to continue the struggle and confront the conspiracies hatched against Yemen.

The national day of Yemen is known as Unity Day. It commemorates the unification of North Yemen and South Yemen that took place on May 22, 1990.

Calls for secession are growing louder, particularly in Aden and other major southern cities that are now controlled by the Emirati-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC).

As part of attempts to control Hadramout governorate and include it in the secession project, Saudi Arabia and the UAE attempt to drag the tribes in this governorate into the ranks of the separatist scheme through negotiation with the Hadramout tribes.
