Saudi-UAE-Backed Government Drowning in Corruption, Financial Crises

Yemen: Amid the economic failures of the mercenary government, the UAE-backed transitional council is going in dedicating the partition and fragmentation project, and deepening the suffering. These tools refuse to neutralize the economy nor to pledge to pay employees’ salaries from oil, gas, seaports and ports’ revenues.

The mercenary government is suffering the pain of falling and the nightmares of Saudi abandonment at the end. As a result of the failure of its financial policy and its drowning in corruption and the quagmire of employment, the economy in the occupied cities has become on the brink of bankruptcy and collapse. The situation has moved towards more impoverishment and destruction of the lives of citizens.

And after undertaking and promoting a new phase of reforms and improving services, in the wake of the announcement of a billion-dollar loan by the Arab Monetary Fund, this government, with its Saudi-backed part, is in a state of confusion and floundering randomly. It beseeched its operators at times to save it and relieve the pressures from the other half, and at other times it accused the authority in Sana’a, holding it responsible for the repercussions of its disastrous policy.

In the footsteps of the Aden governorate, the UAE-backed transitional government directed its officials in the occupied cities to take decisions regarding the use of taxes and financial revenues to cover what they called expenses and requirements. This caused to deepen the division, perpetuate the partition project, and ignited the struggle for influence and power in the oil-wealth-rich areas.

The interruption of services, and the collapse of the riyal price is not an exceptional circumstance or event caused by the cessation of looting and theft of crude oil, and the failure of the mercenary authorities to collect more than a billion dollars during the past months. Rather, it is a bitter reality created by the aggression coalition with its economic war.

The war started by tightening the siege on the port of Hodeidah, transferring the functions of the Central Bank from Sana’a to Aden, driven by the procedures of printing banknotes without any cover and raising the price of the customs dollar twice in a row, then depriving employees of their salaries, and allocating them to the aggression militia and their leaders.

Apparently, the mercenary leaders pay lip service to their alleged legitimacy and their eagerness to provide and improve services and alleviate the suffering of all citizens. However, the truth is that they only care about their interests and are concerned only with increasing the balances in their bank accounts and their authorities.

Contrary to what they claim, they incite to tighten the siege on the port of Hodeidah, and they refuse under pressure of the US to use oil and gas revenues to pay salaries, despite the cost they have recognized in terms of oil and port revenues is sufficient to pay salaries.
