News - Yemen: The official spokesman for Ansarullah, Mohammad Abdulsalam, congratulated, on Monday evening, the pilgrims of the Sacred House of God who perform the rituals of Hajj, calling for more Muslim unity.

Abdulsalam said in his tweet: The pilgrims of the Sacred House of God are preparing to stand on the level of Arafa asking for forgiveness and freedom from fire. We congratulate the pilgrims of the Sacred House of God performing the rituals of Hajj, asking the Almighty to accept them."

And he added by saying: “We hope from God Almighty that it will be one of the most blessed holidays for the nation”, stressing on the importance of Muslim unity and brotherhood.

Millions of Muslim worshipers from across the world have started the annual Hajj pilgrimage in the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia, with the rituals taking place over a period of several days and culminating in Eid al-Adha (Feast of Sacrifice).

Saudi authorities have described this year’s event as the “biggest” Hajj pilgrimage in years, as more than two million people from over 160 countries were said to have attended the annual religious gathering.

The event comes as the requirement for women to be accompanied by male guardians was dropped by Saudi authorities in 2021.

This year, the maximum age limit has also been scrapped, meaning thousands of elderly people will be among those braving Saudi Arabia’s scorching heat that is projected to reach 44 degrees Celsius.

Hajj pilgrimage is one of the pillars of Islam that Muslims who enjoy financial self-sufficiency are religiously obliged to perform at least once in their lifetime.
