Mahamed explained that the people of Al-Mahrah reject all attempts to pass the suspicious deal that the Saudi-UAE-Backed government headed by Maeen Abdel-Malik is seeking to create a marine tongue in Ras Sherwin in the Qishn district to extract and plunder mineral wealth under unfair conditions, for the benefit of a company affiliated with the Emirates.
And Mahamed stated in a Twitter post, “on Sunday, that the suspicious deal will not bring any benefit to the Qishn district, Al-Mahrah and Yemen in general, indicating that it will have environmental damage to the region and society in addition to being a basis for transferring conflicts to Al-Mahrah.
He continued, "Everyone must realize the danger of such projects that violate national sovereignty and plunder the wealth that belongs to generations in al-Mahra."
It is noteworthy that the Minister of Transport affiliated with the “Southern Transitional Council affiliated with the Emirates, Abdulsalam Hamid, signed in July 2021 a deal to lease the port of Qishn to a company funded by the Emirates to rehabilitate the port of Qishn as a commercial port for the benefit of the company for a period of 50 years, which can be extended.
