Local sources in Seiyun reported that a number of people were injured, some of them seriously, as a result of the storming of the festival square, which was set up by the Emirati-backed (Southern Transitional Council) STC.
This came after the STC insisted on holding a regional event in Seiyun, in what appears to be a response to the attempt to exclude it from Hadramout following the formation of the so-called Hadramout Council affiliated with Saudi Arabia. This gave the Islah Party a valuable opportunity to consolidate its presence and enhance its military strength.
The clash that took place reflects the escalation of violence between the mercenary parties. This means that the Saudi-Emirati dispute has reached an acute point. However, it did not depart from the circle of American and British control, as the two countries have recently worked to double their presence in the eastern provinces, within the division project that goes beyond the idea of the two countries into multiple and conflicting states.
Hadramout looks like the future arena for the struggle of tools. Saudi Arabia's involvement in establishing a council parallel to the Emirati-backed STC brings to mind the old ambitions to extend control over the province. The failure to achieve the goals of the aggression against Yemen prompts Riyadh to rush to achieve gains, especially in the occupied governorates.
Saudi and Emirati ambitions, and the conflict between the components foreshadows a major clash in the foreseeable future, the citizens of Hadramout will be its first victims. And the alleged development project promoted by Saudi Arabia will result in security chaos, imbalances, and a lack of services.
