Yemeni People Protest Denouncing ‘Terrible Crime’ of Burning of Holy Qur'an in Sweden
News - Yemen: The Yemeni People organized vigils in various governorates, after Friday prayers, to denounce the “terrible crime” of repeated desecration and burning of the Holy Qur'an in Sweden.
They emphasized that the repeated abuse of the Book of God by the State of Sweden, comes in the context of the Zionist war on Islam and Muslims, as it is controlled by the Zionist lobby.
Statements issued by the popular protests confirmed the rejection of the systematic targeting of the Holy Quran by Sweden, calling on all Muslims to boycott Sweden economically and politically, and to criminalize any dealings with it.
A Sweden-based Iraqi refugee desecrated the Qur'an during a demonstration outside the Iraqi embassy in Stockholm on Thursday amid strict protection provided by the Swedish police. This came less than a month after the man burnt a copy of the Muslim holy book outside Stockholm Central Mosque, sparking outrage in the Muslim world.
Earlier in January, Swedish authorities gave permission for an event outside the Turkish Embassy in Stockholm where an extremist politician burned the Qur'an, Islam's holy book. Days later, Edwin Wagensveld, Dutch leader of the far-right Pegida movement in the Netherlands, tore pages out of a copy of the Qur'an near the Dutch Parliament.
