News - Yemen: The Presidency of Shura Council renewed its condemnation of the continued burning and tearing of copies of the Holy Quran by extremists in Denmark and Sweden in front of the Arab and Islamic embassies.

It called on Arab and Islamic countries to take concrete and effective steps to express their rejection of such foolish behavior by imposing an economic boycott on Swedish and Danish goods.

The Presidential Committee called on the National Salvation Government to oblige the Ministry of Industry and Trade to follow up on implementing its decision to ban the import of Swedish and Danish goods, and to work to stop the activity of commercial companies that are still dealing with the goods of those countries.

Over the past month, the holy Muslim book has been subject to acts of desecration by extremists in three separate incidents in Sweden and Denmark, whose governments have sanctioned and justified such insults as "freedom of expression."

The sacrilege has ignited the ire of the entire Muslim communities across the globe. Several countries have summoned or expelled Swedish and Danish ambassadors.
