News - Yemen: Abyan Governorate, which is under Saudi-Emirati occupation, witnessed on Saturday new popular protests, denouncing the security chaos and poor living conditions.

The protesters denounced the escalation of crimes and violations in various neighborhoods of the city, especially the Ahwar market, which witnesses killings and continuous clashes.

Citizens held the local officials and US-Saudi aggression responsible for the security situation, demanding an end to what they described as the spread of crimes and absence of security.

For its part, the Economic Committee in Sana'a confirmed that the deterioration of the economic and living situation in occupied regions is a result of what US-Saudi aggression has been doing for more than eight years.

The committee indicated in a statement that the deterioration and collapse of the national currency is the result of planned action by US-Saudi aggression.

The statement noted that the US-Saudi aggression is still plundering the proceeds of sovereign wealth and refusing to use it to alleviate the suffering of the people of Yemen. The statement held the US-Saudi aggression to be fully responsible for the suffering of the Yemeni People since the start of the aggression, siege and economic war on Yemen.

Saudi Arabia, backed by the United States and regional allies, launched the war on Yemen in March 2015, claiming the goal of bringing the government of former Yemeni president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi back to power.

The US-Saudi aggression continues to target neighborhoods and populated areas and destroy the infrastructure and capabilities of the country, in light of a suspicious international silence.

The war has left hundreds of thousands of Yemenis dead and displaced millions more. It has also destroyed Yemen’s infrastructure and spread famine and infectious diseases there.
