Negotiations Used by US-Saudi Coalition to Prolong Aggression Against Yemen, Not End It

Yemen: The Omani delegation spent three days in the capital, Sana’a, which was followed by the American moves in the region. Is there positive development in the talks between Yemen and the Saudi regime?

The US administration announced, two days after the last speech of Sayyed Abdulmalik that its envoy, Tim Lenderking, would visit the Gulf region and work closely with Saudi Arabia, the Sultanate of Oman and other partners to launch a comprehensive peace process in Yemen.

In Saudi Arabia, he met only with Rashad Al-Alimi, Washington’s old broker. Perhaps the agenda of officials in Saudi Arabia - who are busy visiting the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran - did not allow the marketing of American claims about supporting peace efforts in Yemen, even in terms of meetings.

It was supposed that issues related to establishing peace were discussed. However, the Omani delegation came to Sana’a before Lenderking’s plane landed in Muscat. This means that the Omani delegation came to Sana’a without any decisions or plans of how the US-Saudi coalition will end the aggression and siege.

It seems that the US decides new proposals to Sana’a regarding the humanitarian issues which are the Yemeni priority. Thus, we are faced with the US continuing to use negotiation as a tool to control the conflict, not to end it.

Everyone is waiting to see what the coming days will reveal, even if it is clear that the US-Saudi policy continuation towards Yemen confirms that the region is waiting for a big storm coming from Yemen this time.
