IOM Reveals Violations Against African Migrants in Aden
News - Yemen: The International Organization for Migration (IOM) expressed its concern about the recent arrests of African migrants carried out by the pro-aggression government in the city of Aden in southern Yemen.
In a statement on Tuesday, the organization called on Aden officials to ensure that the protection, dignity and rights of migrants are preserved.
The migration organization stated that protests and clashes largely occurred due to the frustration felt by migrants living in miserable conditions and wanting to return to their home countries.
Last Friday, there were casualties among African migrants in Aden and Lahij in southern Yemen as a result of disputes between Ethiopian migrants from the Oromo and Amhara tribes that escalated into violent clashes.
Protests by African migrants began in the city of Aden, protesting the deteriorating living conditions and demanding to return to their homeland, according to the International Organization for Migration.
