News - Yemen: Member of the Supreme Political Council, Muhammad Ali Al-Houthi, confirmed that the West seeks to separate the Islamic nation from its sanctities, and is working to distort of the Great Prophet.

Mohammed Al-Houthi denounced the West’s insistence on distorting Islamic sanctities, as well as the insistence of some inside the country to link the celebration of the anniversary of the Prophet’s birthday to heresy.

He pointed out the importance of looking at the advanced stage that the Yemeni people have reached, especially with regard to military industrialization and rebuilding of the armed forces.

"Some people talk about the suffering of the Yemeni people and ignore the state's efforts to address the humanitarian situation, lifting the siege on our country," he said.

Recently, more acts of sacrilege against the Holy Qur'an have taken place in Sweden and Denmark even as the two Nordic countries have said they are exploring ways to legally limit such actions to deescalate growing tensions with Muslim countries.

Several incidents have occurred in recent weeks that featured the desecration of the Holy Qur'an both in Denmark and Sweden with the approval of the two countries' authorities.

These moves drew strongly-worded condemnations from across the globe which have demanded that the Nordic governments put a stop to the desecration of Islam's holy book.

The sacrilegious acts also opened the floodgates of protests throughout the Muslim world, including in Yemen, with all Muslim countries condemning the reprehensible profanity in the strongest terms.
